| Kenya and East Africa |
|
Almost all East African countries have a history of civil war and political unrest. Thousands of refugees from Sudan, Somalia and Ethiopia have fled to other countries across Africa in search of a better life. HIV/AIDS and alcohol abuse are two of the biggest problems that need to be addressed. About 133 programmes are dispatched on CD each week to FM stations in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Eastern Congo, and the TWR-Africa Regional Office in South Africa for broadcast on short wave to East Africa. FM stations in the region also download the programmes aired on satellite to the region.
- TWR-Kenya’s SIFA FM network is a chain of six FM stations across the northern and eastern parts of the country.
- Programmes such as The Honey that Kills and Africa Challenge are educating people about HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment.
- A planned Swahili programming block aimed at women, children, leaders, oral learners and meeting wholistic health needs has the potential to reach 50 million people across East Africa.

Kenya FM Initiative |
In the wake of unrest and riots in recent years, Kenyans face uncertainty on every side. This reality is leading many to seek answers and solutions to the problems surrounding them. Radio is the most widely used communication tool in Kenya. A substantial number of Kenyans have access to radio, their primary source of media information and entertainment.
TWR-Africa has long hoped for a network of radio stations reaching listeners throughout Kenya. This has been made possible through the acquisition of seven frequencies for FM broadcasting in outlying areas of Kenya, which will include several remote towns in the northern and eastern parts of the country where no Christian broadcasting currently takes place. Some of these towns are home to refugees who have fled from war-torn parts of East Africa. Many have experienced extreme hardship. Through FM radio, TWR has an open door for extended ministry in Kenya.
Known on the air as “Sifa,” which means “praise” in Swahili, TWR-Kenya's network produces more than 35 different programs, with over 60 hours of programming aired weekly.
Please prayerfully consider a contribution of $100 toward this project to reach the people of Kenya with God's Word.

A Bold New Initiative for East Africa |
With a potential audience of over fifty million, TWR is breaking new ground in a comprehensive strategy of daily programming. The goal of this project is to saturate the Swahili-speaking world with forty-five minute daily blocks of varied programmes whose aim is to reach women, children, leaders, oral learners and wholistic health needs. Programs will include Women of Hope, Family, Neno (The Word - Thru The Bible), Oral Scriptures, Witness at the Water and Foundations for Farming.
If you have a passion to reach women, children, leaders, oral communicators or communities with developmental health needs, this is an answer to your prayers.
Please prayerfully consider a contribution of $50 or more toward this project to reach the people of Kenya with God's Word.
